Damn, this sounds like a Beat Kangz sequel.

I suggest you guys get your money back, I don't think the cd is ever coming out. They're talking about pressing thousand of CDs but meanwhile there's only a handful of buyers.

They should send out what they got now and give future updates for free to their customers.

Yeah, I do think it's a matter of not enough purchases to make it worthwhile for them to press CDs. They did tell me they were going to press CDs within a few months ("end of the month"), but that's been like over 6 months ago. Meaning, if it hasn't happened already, I don't quite see that happen anytime soon either.

Regardless of motives or reasons, this is really bad considering they've taken this mad long. Their main excuse seems to be that their customers do not care so much about a physical CD as the software 'works' and everyone gets the download 'anyway'.

That sounds great and all on paper, but they did promise a CD and some DID actually pay a pretty serious shipping fee.

2 years later, there's really no valid excuse left.....

By the way, what happened with the Beat Thang?

Before you guys spend more money on a lawyer, start by doing the basic stuff first.

Demand your refund, email them at least a total of 3 times asking for your money back and save and print them along with their replies. It would look good in court that you at least tried to compromise with them.

If you paid with a credit card, then get in touch with your Bank and make a claim. Paypal also cracks down on hustlers too, make a claim if you paid through them.

Contact the Better Business Bureau and make a complaint on these guys and any other related agency.

Also when you demand your refund for the third and last time, warn them that you're gonna make a claim with legal agencies, usually that lets them know you're serious.

If all else fails, then bring in the lawyers.

Excellent ideas and people should definitely check that out, but I think for some that want to take those steps, it's a bit problematic because they live abroad.. like for example in Germany or the UK. I can imagine they could use someone more local to help out.

But again, those are good tips.

I wonder how ChickenSys would respond if someone does go to court with this.

Yeah, you're right. Paypal is international, at least they're good there, and to file a claim with MasterCard or Visa too but I wouldn't know the limits of laws within those boundries. I'm not a lawyer, but I've been hustled by business crooks before and so far, by threatening them that I'm about to file a claim against them always got my money back. Only once I really did file a claim with Visa, when the seller didn't take me serious. 30 days later I was refunded. Thats why I say "don't spend money on a lawyer yet" because things can be dealt with yourself. Then again, there's no need for a lawyer, you can take them to small claims court which doesn't require a lawyer.

I hope you guys get your money back, this smells like a scam. Fight the chicken system!!!

Yeah, you're right.

That's good info too, I for one didn't know you don't need a lawyer for that.

As far as a scam goes, well, the product itself is not so much a scam ( I probably wouldn't recommend it ) but lets just say ChickenSys are misleading people into believing they will receive a CD very shortly after purchase.

None of that happening. I'd be surprised if anyone ever really got a CD.

From what I understand ChickenSys has made a name when it comes to delaying CDs, even with their much bigger and well-known products.

You've probably all had the email anyway...

April 26th, 2010 Chicken Systems CD Status Update

Since the downloads work perfectly, there has been no reason to rush to get the CD's printed. A mature CD release is good for everyone, as it is less dependent on the "you must update this copy" annoyance. We also surveyed our customers - most of them would rather wait for these new pressed copies.

Yup, got that one too, but considering how many people are unsatisfied with not getting a promised CD that many even paid shipping fees for.. I don't quite think that's a very realistic view on the matter.

In fact, isn't 2 years a bit long, regardless of 'mature CD version' and all that? For a software package that they're apparently 'still' improving, it makes no sense whatsoever to not put out a CD already.

You'll be updating either way, so just make sure the CD version is working fine. I think it's safe to assume here that this is simply not entirely the case. Features aside, this is taking them way too long. :(

They're stretching their 'it's up to you' argument into straight ridiculousness.

Hello fam,
I do agree, this is taking much to long. I'm an original buyer, you know the one who supported the grass root movement. Know I would like to reap the benefits by receiving a CD. I have requested to be mail the first press but have not received any thing to date.

Unfortunately it really seems no one ever got their CD. Does anyone here have a similar experience with other software from ChickenSys?

I really think it's incredibly odd that they simply do not press a CD, when they do state they are going to. Regardless of program functionality or digital distribution, they're simply misleading buyers. Regardless of what they say, we've actually paid for that CD.

Yes, I received my CD about three weeks ago. I have not had the time to load the program, so I don't know what version is included, or if any new features were added. I will report my finding after the software installation. :D
